If you are in the process of applying for jobs then you may have been called up for an interview. You may have not been to one before or maybe you have been to a few but still get nervous about attending, worrying in case you say something wrong or forget to mention something that is important. If you are attending an interview for a post that you really want then you may make yourself even more nervous as you may feel this is the perfect opportunity and you do not want to do anything to ruin it.

When preparing for an interview practice can make perfect. Obviously you will not know the exact questions that you are going to be asked in the interview but there are a number of common questions that you can pre plan for. Questions such as “why do you want the job” and “why do you think you would be good in this role” are often asked by potential employers.

Make sure that you go through your CV and highlight any areas that you think they may question you on. This may be a gap in employment or a certain qualification you have achieved. Be sure to think ahead as to how you will explain any time out of work or short periods of employment.
