Finding work in a city

If you are on the search for a new job and live in a fairly rural area, you may find that there simply are not enough job opportunities available to you, especially if the job you are looking for is quite niche.

Often the majority of jobs are located in either large towns or cities and this can be a bit of a challenge for those that live in the country. With public transport not always being a quick and as often as we would like, you may find that if you do not drive you will struggle to get to and from work on a daily basis.

When looking for jobs, there may come a time when you need to expand your search area but before applying for a position be sure that you would be able to organise transport should the job be offered to you. Often if you live a distance away from the business that is offering the vacancy, you may be asked at interview how you intend on getting to and from work. If you do not have an answer to this then it could put potential employer off offering you the post.

Work out how much it is going to cost you in transport to work away from your home area and be sure that it is worth while doing before applying for any vacancies.
