Should you turn down jobs when looking for work?

If you are desperately seeking work then you may not consider turning work down as any extra work is money, but if you are looking for a permanent position then there may come a time when you are offered a job following an interview, but have since realised that it may not be exactly what you are looking for.

When looking to apply for a new job position, not only should you consider if you have the relevant experience and qualifications but also is it a job that you would be happy doing? If the answer is no then you probably shouldn’t even apply. Yes, money is often the main reason many of us go to work but that doesn’t mean to say that we cannot pick a job that we enjoy or that gives us satisfaction.

Too many people get stuck in jobs that they do not enjoy and that is not good for the employee or the employer as the quality of work produced is likely to be low and it can also have a knock on effect on staff morale in the workplace.

If you do have to find work quickly then try and find something that will give you experience to put on your CV as this will help when applying for jobs in the future.
